A guide to giving Permutive access to the relevant GAM log files so that we can programmatically report on your targeted impressions usage
To begin, you will need to share access to your GAM log files. GAM log files are a feature of GAM Premium (also known as data transfer reports). These log files contain data about every impression that gets served, including what cohorts the user was in at the time when the impression was served and which of those cohorts (if any) were used in the decision to serve the impression.
The specific files we need for billing are NetworkImpressions and NetworkBackfillImpressions.
Please follow the steps below to give Permutive access
- Give support@permutive.com 'read access to the bucket, by inviting the account to the Google group you created when setting up the bucket.
- Give our service account, 326199512840-compute@developer.gserviceaccount.com 'read access to the bucket. This enables us to programmatically access the files. Since this is a service account, click 'direct add members' to add this email address, instead of 'invite'.
In addition to log files, two new key-values need to be added to your GAM instance:
- ptime
- puid
To add these key values please follow the steps below:
-
Head to the 'Inventory' tab
-
Select the 'Key-values' tab
-
Click 'New key-value'
-
Choose the settings 'Dynamic' and 'Do not include values in reporting'
Note: Once you've completed all the steps above, please email support@permutive.com so we can complete the final steps on our end.
