A guide to navigating your Targeted Impressions insights dashboard.
The Targeted Impressions insights dashboard presents data about the targeted impressions generated by all of the activated cohorts in your Permutive project.
Note: These dashboards will be visible to users who have the “Administrator” and "Editor" roles.
The dashboard sits under the Campaign section in the navigation bar and will appear alongside the ad server campaign insights tab.
Overview
The overview report enables you to analyze the percentage of targeted impressions across all activated cohorts.
At the top of the report you will see the terms 'Cohorts' and 'Filter'. If you click 'Edit' next to 'Cohorts' you can choose to select all, multiple, or specify one cohort you're interested in analyzing.
If the Cohort ID is listed instead of the Cohort Name in this filter, it may mean the cohort has been deleted. However, as we still have information on the targeted impressions flighted for this audience, the ID and their impressions will still appear and be available for analysis.
Click 'Edit' next to 'Filter' to specify the required date range.
Data Points
% Targeted | % Targeted is calculated by dividing the number of targeted impressions by the total number of (targetable) impressions to produce a percentage that indicates how many impressions are still available for targeting |
Change in % Targeted | Compared to the previous date range (e.g. if the date range selected is 1 month then change will show MoM) |
Targeted Impressions | Total number of impressions targeted with a cohort |
Total Impressions | Total number of (targetable) impressions available across all cohorts |
Cohort Breakdown
This section shows the information on the percentage targeted by each cohort. This could be used to understand which cohorts get targeted the most/least and also indicate the % targeted for each cohort to determine what is undersold/oversold.
Similar to the 'Cohorts' filter, if the Cohort Name is listed as 'N/A' but the Cohort ID is still present then the cohort may have been deleted. As we still have information on the previously targeted impressions flighted for this audience, the data will remain available for analysis.
This table can be filtered by a “Top 100/Bottom 100” filter. You can click on the “Download chart data” button to export ALL cohort activation data.
Data Points
This table is broken out by cohort, indicating the:
Cohort Name |
The unique name given to each cohort |
Cohort ID | The unique numerical identifier given to each cohort (aka key-value) |
Cohort Type |
Denotes the cohort as either first or third-party data |
Targeted Impressions | Total number of impressions targeted with the cohort |
Total Impressions | Total number of (targetable) impressions available across the cohort |
% Targeted | % Targeted is calculated by dividing the number of targeted impressions by the total number of (targetable) impressions to produce a percentage that indicates how many impressions are still available for targeting |
Opportunities
This section allows you to review targeted impression volumes and opportunities. You can also:
- Analyze changes in the growth of TIs due to seasonality and campaign activity
- Understand top-targeted cohorts across specific verticals
- Discover advertiser buying patterns (e.g. which advertisers are buying heavily on the audience, generally and across specific cohorts)
- Get a snapshot on % TI change compared to the previous period (as defined by date range)
