A guide to navigating your Content Read insights for audiences

Content Read insights provide data about onsite reading activity with regards to a specific segment or group of segments.

This data can be useful when completing an RFP response and providing insights into what type of content users in a specific segment tend to engage with.

At the top of the Content Read insights dashboard, you will see 'Audience' and 'Filter.' If you click 'Edit' next to Audience you can choose which segment, set of segments, or tag group for which you want to see content read data.

If you click 'Edit' next to Filter, you will see the filters available when analyzing specific segments.

You can choose the date range, domain, device type, country, and platform of the users you want to see.

If you have deployed Permutive on multiple domains and do not see one of them in the filter, please see this article for a guide on adding domains.

Tip: If you get a timeout error, please reduce the complexity of the report and remove some filters. If this is not a possibility, please contact support. For any other errors, please see Common Insights Errors.

Data Points

The number of unique users who read a specific article, and belong to the segment you are filtering by, during the selected timeframe
The percentage of your selected segment that read a specific article
How likely users who belong to your selected segment are to engage with a specific article when compared to the average user

Interpreting the Index

Similar to what you will find with Index and Overlap insights, the index in Content Read shows how much more likely a user is to have read an article than your average user.

Note: The Content Read dashboard will always use your 'Everyone' segment as the base segment.

Using the example above, we read this as 'Users in our Sports Enthusiasts segment are 1.02 times or 2% more likely to read the article JW Player With Permutive DMP Segments than average users.'

For more information on interpreting index data, please see this article.
