A guide to navigating your Content Read insights for audiences
Overview
Content Read insights provide data about the onsite reading activity with regard to a specific cohort or group of cohorts.
This data can be useful when completing an RFP response and providing insights into what type of content users in a specific cohort tend to engage with.
Note: Only properties from the PageView event can be used for the Content Read report. Please refer to Q. What properties can I request to add to my Content Read tab? for more details.
Filters
At the top of the Content Read insights dashboard, you will see 'Audience' and 'Filter.' If you click 'Edit' next to Audience you can choose which cohort, set of cohorts, or tag group for which you want to see content read data.
If you click 'Edit' next to Filter, you will see the filters available when analyzing specific cohorts.
You can choose the date range, domain, device type, country, and platform of the users you want to see.
If you have deployed Permutive on multiple domains and do not see one of them in the filter, please see this article for a guide on adding domains.
Tip: If you get a timeout error, please reduce the complexity of the report and remove some filters. If this is not a possibility, please contact support. For any other errors, please see Common Insights Errors.
Data Points
- Uniques
- The number of unique users who read a specific article, and belong to the cohort you are filtering by, during the selected timeframe
- Audience
- The percentage of your selected cohort that read a specific article
- Index
- How likely users who belong to your selected cohort are to engage with a specific article when compared to the average user
Interpreting the Index
Similar to what you will find with Index and Overlap insights, the index in Content Read shows how much more likely a user is to have read an article than your average user.
Note: The Content Read dashboard will always use your 'Everyone' cohort as the base cohort.
Using the example above, we read this as 'Users in our Sports Enthusiasts cohort are 1.02 times or 2% more likely to read the article JW Player With Permutive DMP Cohorts than average users.'
For more information on interpreting index data, please see this article.
