A guide to navigating your Engagement insights for audiences
Overview
Engagement insights provide data about the level of onsite activity with regards to a specific cohort or set of cohorts.
This data can be useful when completing an RFP response to provide advertisers with data on how much time users in a cohort spend on your site.
Warning: Some edge platforms apply limitations to how the SDK operates and this can result in data not being included in the Engagement Insights charts. This table provides a breakdown of which charts include data from each platform:
Platform | Web | AMP | FIA | iOS | Android |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Uniques | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Sessions | ✓ | X | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Pageviews | ✓ | X | ✓ | X | X |
Articles viewed per session | ✓ | X | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Average session length | ✓ | X | ✓ | X | X |
Filters
At the top of the Engagement insights dashboard you will see Audience and Filter. If you click 'Edit' next to audience you can choose which cohort, set of cohorts, or tag group for which you want to see engagement data.
If you click 'Edit' next to Filter, you will see the filters available when analyzing specific cohorts.
You can choose the date range, domain, device type, country, and platform of the users you want to see.
Tip: If you get a timeout error, please reduce the complexity of the report and remove some filters. If this is not a possibility, please contact support.
Data Points

Sessions - The number of sessions completed by users in the cohorts you are filtering by in the selected timeframe
Pageviews - The number of pageview events fired by users in the cohorts you are filtering by in the selected timeframe
Average Time Spent (Mins) - The average time that the users in the cohort you are filtering by have spent (in minutes) browsing on your site, over the date range selected
Average Session Length - The average amount of time spent on your site by users in the cohorts you are filtering by in the selected timeframe
Articles Viewed Per Session - The average number of pageview events fired on your site during a single session by users in the cohorts you are filtering by in the selected timeframe.
