An overview of how to send your segments to The Trade Desk and share your data. The Trade Desk is an online demand-side platform that provides buying tools for digital media buyers.
Adding the Trade Desk Integration
If you don’t already have the Trade Desk - 1P integration for your project, you’ll need to add it on your Permutive dashboard.
You'll need:
- Access to the Permutive dashboard
- The Permutive/ Trade Desk code snippet on your site
- Your Trade Desk Advertiser ID and Secret Key
In the Permutive Dashboard:
1. Login to your project, select ‘Settings → Integrations → Add Integration’

2. Select the Trade Desk - 1P

3. Input your Advertiser ID and Secret Key
In order to configure The Trade Desk - 1P Integration, you'll need the following information from the The Trade Desk user interface:
- Advertiser ID
- Secret Key

To access this information you need to follow these steps:
- Log into your The Trade Desk account
- Select the advertiser to whom you are importing your Permutive segments
- Select the preferences tab at the top left
- When you scroll down you will see a box labeled ‘First Party Data Credentials’
If you are sending the segments into your own Trade Desk instance, please input your Partner ID into the Advertiser ID section.

The integration will be live within 20 minutes.
Send your Permutive segments to The Trade Desk
The ‘The Trade Desk’ activation allows you to send any of your Permutive segments directly to The Trade Desk, where you can use them for any of your inventory, under a unique Permutive segment ID
You'll need:
- Access to the Permutive dashboard
- A Permutive segment already set up, that you want to push to The Trade Desk
In the Permutive Dashboard:
- Login to your project, select ‘Activations → Add Activation’
- Select the ‘The Trade Desk’ Action
- Set up the activation for your segment. For more guidance on setting up activations, see this guide.
Note:
- You must add a new activation for each segment you send to ‘The Trade Desk’.
- Your segment will now be sent to ‘The Trade Desk’ under its segment code, which acts as a unique ID for the segment. Each segment’s code is listed under the ‘Segments’ page in the Permutive dashboard.
