Identity Manager simplifies the integration with third-party ID vendors, enabling encrypted user IDs to be passed into the bidstream. This functionality drives higher CPMs, improving programmatic revenue while reducing reliance on development teams. The product supports seamless integration through a no-code workflow, accessible in the Permutive dashboard.

Core Features

Identity Manager enables you to integrate with ID solutions like LiveRamp, UID2 and ID5 to distribute encrypted user IDs (envelopes), increasing CPMs in programmatic.

1. No-Code Integration: The Permutive dashboard provides a no-code workflow to enable and manage integrations
2. Custom Controls: Restrict vendor integrations by geography to balance data exposure and incremental value
3. Real-Time Processing: Once configured, the Permutive SDK retrieves and passes encrypted IDs into the bidstream in real time

How to use Identity Manager

Finding Identity Manager in the Dashboard

1. Log in to the Permutive dashboard and navigate to the Identity section
2. Access the integration catalog to view available ID vendors

Setting Up an Integration

1. Click Connect for any of the ID vendors from the catalog
2. Input the Partner ID / Placement ID / API key provided by the vendor. You typically receive this after accepting their terms and conditions.
3. Click Save Configuration to enable the integration

Customizing Configuration

• Geo Rules: Restrict ID integrations to specific countries, based on the user’s IP location

Managing Integrations

• Disable: Turn off integrations when no longer needed
• Edit: Update vendor configurations, including API keys or geographic restrictions

Technical Setup

Prebid

You need to add the Permutive User ID Module to your prebid setup. This module acts as an interface between the Permutive SDK and Prebid. This step only needs to be done once, when initially enabling Identity Manager. It will support all current and future ID integration.

• For Self-Managed Prebid: Modify the configuration file to include the module
• For Managed Prebid: Ask your provider to include the module in your Prebid setup

Hashed Emails

Ensure you collect hashed email addresses in Permutive, so Identity Manager can include them in requests to ID solutions. You can find the relevant technical documentation here.

Current Capabilities and Limitations

• Supported Vendors: Currently integrates with LiveRamp, UID2 and ID5, with plans to add more identity integrations - please share feedback on your priorities! 
• Consent: Identity Manager will check TCF consent before running vendor integrations
• Platform Scope: Web-based only; App and CTV support will be added in future iterations
• Vendor-Specific Notes: For ID5, Permutive will download the ID5 JavaScript SDK on your site
