A guide to setting up and using the TikTok integration
How to enable TikTok in your dashboard
If you want to enable TikTok in your dashboard, please reach out to technical-services@permutive.com, and they will be able to enable the TikTok integration for you.
How does TikTok work once enabled
Permutive uses TikTok pixels that are already present on your page and are installed and exposed via the ttq (TikTok's) SDK. Permutive sends events to each pixel that is present on the website, and this is not configured to a specific destination.
When a user enters a cohort that is activated to TikTok, Permutive fire an event via the TikTok pixel that has the cohort code as part of its name. This is because within TikTok, you can only build audiences based on event names. If identity email_sha256
(HEM) is present, we’ll identify the user with that hashed email to increase the match rate and not rely on the cookie.
Note: If multiple pixels are installed on the page, Permutive will trigger events on each one.
How to send cohorts to TikTok
There are two ways that you can send cohorts to TikTok, these are as follows:
- Navigate to 'Custom Cohorts' in your Permutive dashboard and select the cohort you want to activate too TikTok. You can then switch the toggle on under 'Activation Syncs' for TikTok as shown below:
- Navigate to 'Cohort Activations' in your Permutive dashboard and select '+Add Activation'. You will then want to select TikTok and fill in the details as shown below and activate the cohort to TikTok.
