Future forecasting, also known as “Future sell-through reports”, are used to predict the availability of impressions from your network. It allows you to forecast availability for a specific audience.

This tool generally uses 28 days of sample data to make its projections, taking historical basis adjustments into account. This is part of DFP's algorithm and the time it takes to forecast cannot be sped up by Permutive.

To generate a future sell-through report go to Reports > Queries > New query. Enter a relevant query name and select the 'Future sell-through' report type. Enter a future date range (Fixed or dynamic). You can also input the quantity of impressions required for the campaign.

To specify the report to use Permutive key values go to Ad targeting  > Key-values. Key = 'permutive' and type in values (segment codes or names), separated by commas. All the Permutive values available should show in a drop-down. Add the Key-values filter into the 'Selected criteria' section. You should also add 'Ad Units'.  

Click save and run.

Here is an example of a report we have pulled. Your forecast summary (result) will appear at the bottom of the report.
